Critical Appraisal of Alternative Dispute Resolution in the Legal System of Pakistan

This study will enlighten the integration of alternative dispute resolution in the legal system of Pakistan, as conflict resolution has been an important factor for the progress of societies. The changes in the legislation of Pakistan will be discussed in the qualitative research methodology, that how Pakistan has undergone certain changes in its legal system for the implementation of Alternative Dispute Resolution. The Pakistani legal framework regarding this is divided into two different phases: before and after 2010. The legislation after 2010 was a milestone covered by the legislature for the adoption and implementation of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards. ADR is also introduced in the taxation laws of Pakistan for deciding the tax disputes of the taxpayers in an amicable way.
