Abstract

This study looks at how Pakistan's energy sector in terms of Gas has affected the country's economic development, with a particular emphasis on the connection between GDP growth, energy output, and energy consumption. The study finds a strong correlation between economic development and the performance of the Gas as energy industry in the short and long term using time-series data and econometric methods including Granger-causality analysis and co-integration. The findings show that industrial output, employment, and general economic productivity are all significantly influenced by a steady and adequate supply of energy. Furthermore, it has been discovered that the sector's inefficiencies and energy limitations limit growth. The results highlight the necessity of investing in sustainable gas as energy infrastructure, diversifying energy sources, and implementing comprehensive energy reforms in order to support Pakistan's long-term economic objectives. Recommendations for policies are given to improve the gas as energy sector's ability and effectiveness as a driver of sustainable growth.
