This study investigates the employment issues and challenges faced by persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Utilizing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 190 employed PWDs across various districts through a structured Likert-scale questionnaire. Findings reveal that negative employer attitudes, limited job opportunities, physical inaccessibility, and social stigma significantly hinder PWDs’ inclusion in the workforce. While moderate workplace support and awareness exist, accessibility and policy implementation remain inconsistent. Statistical analysis indicates minimal gender or sectoral differences in perceptions, though urban respondents reported slightly better workplace accessibility. The study emphasizes that institutional barriers, rather than individual limitations, perpetuate employment inequality. Strengthening policy enforcement, promoting inclusive workplace design, enhancing awareness, and improving institutional coordination are vital to achieving equitable employment for PWDs. The findings advocate for a multi-sectoral approach to ensure social justice, empowerment, and sustainable inclusion of PWDs in the Gilgit-Baltistan labor market.
