Effects of Heavy School Bag Weight on the Physical Health of Primary Students in Rawalakot

Many studies have debated on effects of heavy school bag weight on the physical health of students .This study was conducted in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to measure school bag weight and compares it with recommended standards. A sample of 140 students’ body and bag weights were measured and 103 students carrying heavy bags were selected as the target group. Data were collected by questionnaire and using weight measurement. The collected data were analyzed in Microsoft Excel using frequencies and percentages. The study revealed that most of the students carried bags exceeding the recommended weight limit.
