This research examines the potential of Blockchain Technologies (BT) for influence on Supply Chain Sustainability (SCS) through the intermediary of Supply Chain integration (SCI), Mapping Supply Chain (SCM) and transparency in the Supply Chain (SCT). After increasing complexity and sustainability issues within the supply chain in the city of Karachi of Pakistan, the study proposes to identify the use of the competence of the blockchain to enhance the sustainable performance of the chain. The research adopts a strategic resource perspective of the blockchain, drawing on the Dynamic Capabilities Theory to shape this view. The study perceives the concept of blockchain as a strategic resource that assists firms to restructure and empower supply chain processes according to Dynamic Capabilities Theory. The research design was quantitative and the instrument used was a questionnaire with Likert-scale ranging from 5-point. In this research, the reliability of the pilot was carried out by SPSS and the preliminary data was screened by structural model analysis using SmartPLS-SIM.This study used SPSS for pilot reliability analysis and analyzed preliminary data on SmartPLS-SIM between the model and structural. The results show that the influence of BT on SCI, SCM, SCT and SCS are significant and positive with SCI and SCT playing a positive role for SCS as well. However, relationship between SCM and SCS did not yield any significant direct impact. The paper points to the importance of two operations on blockchain integration and transparency which help enhance sustainability. They have theoretical and managerial implications and suggest replications in geography and future longitudinal designs.
